Wanda Covey's Obituary
Mrs. Wanda B. “Katie” Covey, of Leesburg, Florida passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the age of 83 years. One of eleven children, she was born in Wise, Virginia to the late Schuylar and Sarah Baker. She retired from General Motors. Katie and her husband, George, moved to the Leesburg area in 1985 from Anderson, Indiana. She was a member of the Community Wesleyan Church in Leesburg. Katie was the matriarch of her family and raised her family guided by her strong Christian beliefs. She loved her family with all of her heart and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a strong woman with a feisty attitude. Katie will be remembered and dearly missed by her daughters, Cassie and her husband, Mark Cremer of Leesburg and Tammara and her husband, Reverend Michael Wade of Leesburg; brother, Richard Baker of Ohio and 6 grandchildren, Kent Cremer, Amanda Milliron, Chad Cremer, Anthony Ritter, Jordan Ritter and Alec Ritter. She was preceded in death by her husband, George F. Covey in August of 1991 after 37 years of marriage, as well as 7 brothers and 2 sisters. The family invites friends to gather for visitation on Tuesday, June 4 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at the Lakebridge Church of the Nazarene in Eustis. The funeral ceremony will start at 1:00 pm in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memory Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Directors, Eustis, FL.
