Virginia Jenny Fitzpatrick's Obituary
Virginia “Jenny” Fitzpatrick of Orlando, formerly of Grand Island, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the age of 86. She was born in Stockton, Georgia to the late, Gordon and Ruth Bennett. She met Vernon Keith Fitzpatrick and fell in love. They were married in 1962.
Jenny and her husband, Vernon were living in Fort Myers before relocating to Grand Island. After Vernon passed, she moved to Orlando to be near her daughter.
Jenny loved people and never met a stranger. She worked as a pharmacy assistant in Fort Myers and would make deliveries to folks that couldn’t drive. She also loved to entertain. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker, taking good care of her family. She enjoyed the outdoors and liked to read. Jenny was a wonderful seamstress as well.
In addition to her parents, Jenny was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Vernon; son, Jimmy Ray Holmes; grandson, Jason Keith Gilson; son, Richard Ellis Fitzpatrick; daughter, Tracey Celeste Fitzpatrick; brother, Herbert "Sonny Boy", sister, Goldie Mamie and brother, Wilbur. She is remembered and will be dearly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie and Larry Jones of Orlando; grandson, Timmy Ray Holmes of New Smyrna Beach; great grandson, Dr. Richard “Ricky” McCormick of Charlotte, North Carolina; great granddaughters, Kaili Gilson Dixon and Chloe Gilson Dixon of Clermont; great grandson, Winston Fletcher Holmes of New Smyrna Beach; great-great granddaughter, Ava Luna Valido; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Nana, we will miss you and your beautiful smile.
Family and friends are invited to gather for viewing on Friday, January 21 from 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM in the funeral home chapel. A graveside ceremony will be held immediately after at Lakeside Memory Gardens.
