Stephen Carson Payne Sr.'s Obituary
Stephen Carson Payne age 81, died on March 8, 2024, in Eustis Florida at AdventHealth Waterman Hospital, Tavares, Florida. He is survived by his children, Beverly Niblett of St. James, Barbados, Stephen Carson Payne, Jr. of Canutillo, Texas, Stephanie Payne of Brooklyn New York, their children and grandchildren, his siblings, Carol Clarke, Ulah Husbands, Wycliffe Payne, Cynthia Forde, Jerome Payne, Owen Payne, Michael Payne, Myra Payne, Sandy, Payne Tiny Payne, Norma Payne, Verna Payne, Cheryl Walkes, and Anderson Walkes, a host of nieces and nephews, and many more loving relatives. Stephen was predeceased by Wife Rosa “Pearl” Payne his parents Livingston Wycliffe Payne and Marzena Ena Payne-Walkes, his brothers Errol Payne, Dennis Payne, and Martin Payne.
Stephen was born in Upper Carlton, St. James, Barbados. As a young man in Barbados, Stephen had a passion for making colorful kites and flying them. Stephen worked hard as a young man in Barbados, where he eventually made his way to America as a teen where he lived in Florida. He then moved to New York and returned to Florida in 1999. Stephen worked hard and monetarily took care of his mother and younger siblings. He worked at IMB as a Technician for over 30 years where he met his current wife Rosa “Pearl” Payne. They were together for 59 years and married for several years. Stephen enjoyed working in his yard, raising chickens and rabbits, cooking food his way, and hosting visiting family, friends, and strangers. He was a member of the Barbados Association of Central Florida. He truly enjoyed traveling back to Barbados for visits with his family and longtime friends.
Stephen will be cremated, and a committal service will be held on March 22, 2024, Time to be determined at Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis, Florida where he will be placed to rest next to his wife. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at AdventHealth Waterman Hospital, Tavares, Florida, who cared and administered excellent care to Stephen Carson Payne during his time there.
