Shirley Ruth Gruber of Altoona, FL passed away Friday, March 18, 2022. She was born in Chicago, IL on January 10, 1927 and was married for 70 years to George Gruber who passed in 2017.
Shirley and George moved to Lakeview Terrace in Altoona in 1994 from Chicago by way of Fort Myers. They enjoyed life together and George became her eyes as her vision decreased and walking became more difficult. Shirley often commented that George was still watching over her and we blamed him when a watch or clock alarm would go off in the middle of the night.
She was loved for her spirit, her determination and affinity for chocolate.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband, George Gruber. She is loved and missed by many friends.
