Rosa Lee Cannon's Obituary
Rosa Lee Cannon of Eustis, FL passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the age of 83 years. She was born in Geneva, AL. Rosa moved to Tavares in the 1950’s. She also lived in Deland for many years as well as Crystal River before moving back to Lake County. She was a member of Stetson Baptist Church in Deland. Rosa was a homemaker, worked as a secretary, a certified nurse’s aide and a beautician, over different periods of her life. She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Ladies Oriental Shrine in Hawaii. She loved to sew and made about 40 different wedding dresses. Rosa enjoyed decorating cakes, especially wedding cakes. She also loved to paint. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burman Cannon on September 6, 1974 after 25 years of marriage. Rosa is remembered and will be dearly missed by her son, Burman R. Cannon and his wife, Laurie of Salt Springs, FL; daughters, Patricia Sanders of Tampa, FL and Darlene Hertel of Dallas, TX; brothers, Mike Taylor of Mumford, TN, Jerry Hemphill of Palm Harbor, FL and Don Taylor of Deland, FL; sisters, Dee Cappelleri of Deland, Ann Bradley of Deland, Pat Mobley of Deland, Becky Taylor of Deland and Shirley Powell of Phoenix, AZ; 7 grandchildren, Leah (Mark) Sells, Dana Castellanos, Shannon (Nick) Calegari, Donny Taylor, Zech Sanders, Chad Hertel and Chase Hertel and 6 great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to gather for viewing on Saturday, October 24 from 1:00 -2:00 pm with a funeral ceremony starting at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis, FL. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
