Norman R. Johnson's Obituary
Norman R. Johnson of Tavares, Florida passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the age of 86 years. He was born in Ortonville, Michigan. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Part of his service included being stationed in Greenland in the Arctic Circle and was known to be a member of the Blue Nose Club. Norman was a retired factory worker where he worked manufacturing refrigeration parts. He and his wife relocated to Florida in 1988 from Michigan. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tavares. Norman was a talented carpenter. He enjoyed fishing and reading and he loved to play cards. He is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife of 64 years, Edna; sons, Russell Johnson of Tavares, David Johnson and his wife, LeeAnn of Baltimore, Ohio and Tom Johnson of New York City; daughters, Barbara Wagner and her husband, Louis of Britton, Michigan and Debbie Shiels and her husband, John of Adrian, Michigan, sisters, Helen Nault of Petersburg, Michigan and Hazel Wood of Webberville, Michigan; as well as 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, December 2 at the Imperial Terrace Clubhouse from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm and on Saturday, December 5 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Michigan. Check with the church for service time. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared on the tribute wall.
