Michael "Mike" J. Kledzik's Obituary
Michael “Mike” J. Kledzik, 71, of Tavares, passed away October 30, 2014, surrounded by his loving wife and three children. Mike was born in Melvindale, Michigan on December 10, 1942. At the age of six he moved to the Orlando area with his parents and nine siblings. In 1960 Mike graduated Bishop Moore High School and continued on to honorably serve in the United States Air Force.
Mike’s radiant personality and unmatched work ethic cultivated his 44 years of success in the wine and spirits industry. His clients enjoyed his depth of knowledge and contagious laugh. He dedicated 20 years to PRP Wines International and was a well-respected senior member of the sales team. Mike was devoted to the community as evidenced by his many acts of volunteerism throughout his life. He was notable for his partnership with The Mission Inn Golf Resort & Club to support the Florida Junior Golf Auction for 30 years.
Mike loved to be outdoors, whether it was boating, golfing or gardening. His favorite hobby was fishing. He was happiest at the water’s edge. Mike was best known for his joyful spirit, tender heart and kind soul. He was a loving, devoted father and family man.
Mike is preceded in death by parents Tadeusz and Martha (Kubisak); and siblings Dorothy (Ogdie), Loretta (Meifert), Robert, Eugene, William and Joseph.
Mike is survived by his loving wife Bonnie; children, Shannon Phillips and husband David, David Kledzik and wife Christine, Mandy Cooke and husband Jeremy; 10 grandchildren; siblings Georgia Bender and husband Paul, Thaddeus Kledzik and wife Denise, Martin Kledzik and wife Margaret; many nieces, nephews and numerous close friends.
To celebrate Mike’s life a visitation for friends and family will be held Monday, November 10th between 5:00 and 7:00 pm at the Steverson, Hamlin and Hilbish Funeral Home, 226 East Burleigh Boulevard (441), Tavares, Florida 32778. A Mass will be held Tuesday, November 11th at 8:30 am at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church located at 1330 Sunshine Avenue, Leesburg, Florida, 34748, followed by the Committal Service with Military Honors at Lakeside Memory Gardens at 11:30 am located at 36601 County Road 19A, Eustis, Florida 32726.
