Marvin William Rhoades' Obituary
Marvin William Rhoades, 92 of Altoona, FL passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017. He was born on Sunday, September, 07, 1924 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Clarence and Vallie Rhoades. Marvin enlisted into the United States Army on May 22, 1943 and was honorably discharged on November 08, 1945 due to an injury that he acquired while fighting for our grateful nation. Marvin was a WWII Veteran and a proud Veteran of the United States Army. For most of his life Marvin was a heavy equipment operator. After he retired Marvin moved to Key largo, FL and sold RV’s. In 1992 he moved from Key Largo, FL to Altoona, FL. He was a member of The Elks Lodge and Chairmen of the Disabled American Veterans Association. Marvin enjoyed woodworking, building furniture, fishing, and his dog Bear. He was an easygoing man with a lot of whit and talent who had an impeccable memory. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by many. He is predeceased by his loving Wife: Jeanie Rhoades and Son: Donald Rhoades. He is survived by his Son: Russell (Audrey) Rhoades, of Umatilla, FL; Daughter: Hellen (Jeff) Williamson, of Plant City, FL; Daughter-in-law: Carole Rhoades, of Hollister, FL; Brother: Buddy (Doris) Rhoades, of Greenwood, IN; And Grandson: Michael Rhoades, of Miami, FL. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at Steverson Hamlin and Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, located at: 226 East Burleigh Blvd. Tavares, FL 32778.
