Our mother, Mamie Lou Taylor, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 21, 2024, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Full of life, love, laughter, and always willing to help, she never met a stranger.
Mamie was born on July 26, 1938, to David M. and Leola M. Tindell in Esto, FL. She married her husband, Charles Frank Taylor, on October 5, 1953. They shared 60 1/2 years of devotion to one another until Charles (Charlie) preceded her in death on May 28, 2014.
Mamie was also preceded in death by her parents Leola M. and David M. Tindell; her three sons, Tommy Ray (May 20, 1965), Charles F. Jr. (May 17, 1973), and Jimmy D. (Dec. 7, 2008); brother Leon Tindell, son-in-law James L. Bell (2016); and granddaughter Staci Bell (Dec. 14, 2016).
Mamie was employed at a candy store making candy, and as a school teacher at Mill Creek Baptist Church of Eureka, Eureka, FL. She enjoyed sewing as she made several articles of clothing for her family members, reading, cooking, entertaining family & friends at Thanksgiving and other occasions. She loved playing cards, and laughing with friends and family including the new ones she made at Dominion Senior Living and at Carriage House Inn The Heart Remembers, where she lived the last two years, She handled the struggles and challenges of life with grace and strength, never allowing her faith in the Lord to falter.
She is survived by her brother David Lavon Tindell and sister Debra Walters, daughters Barbara (Dan) Willis and Linda Bell; 6 grandchildren - Keith (Michelle) Bell, Craig (Jackie) Bell, Anthony Taylor, Elizabeth (Spencer) Lynn, Joshua Willis, and Christian Taylor; 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
While we will miss her so much, we know she is now praising her Heavenly Father and reuniting with her loved ones.
