Lucille Virginia Givens' Obituary
Lucille Virginia Newman Givens of Eustis, FL passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014. Lucille was born in Houston County, Dothan, Alabama on April 16, 1925, the third of nine children born to Charlie Douglas and Ossie Anderson Newman. She married Elzie Givens August 26,1942 in Dothan, AL. They moved to Eustis 1946. Lucille worked for Livingston Packing house, Laws Drug and Pharmacy, Florida Waterman Hospital Dietary Dept and retired from Pugh’s Cleaners in Eustis after 21. She loved quilting, gardening, fishing, bluegrass music, eating sweets and being with people. She made friends with everyone, always had a smile, and truly loved life, laughter and talking. Her greatest love was her husband Elzie for 72 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Givens is predeceased by her parents, six brothers, Charlie Clyde, Elbert, Floyd, James, Eugene and Albert. She is survived by her daughter Marie (Victor) McGregor Tavares, FL; son Larry Elzie (Debbie Brock) Givens, Eustis, FL, grandson Eric H. McGregor Austin, TX, sisters, Louise (Ralph) Sizemore, Dothan, AL; Mildred Lee Thompson (Billy Joe), Midland, AL and many nieces and nephews. Harden Pauli Funeral Home will host a Celebration of Life graveside at Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis, on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 1:00 PM.
