Joseph Neil Smith's Obituary
Joseph Neil Smith 81, of Leesburg, passed away on April 11, 2014. He was born in Fairmont City, Pennsylvania and moved here in 1998 from Brentwood, Tennessee. He was a member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church of Eustis and was a retired Plant Manager for Sanymetal Products Company in Arlington Tennessee where he worked for 41 years. He was an active community volunteer at Mid Florida Lakes of Leesburg and a member of the Mid Florida Lakes Boat Club, and bowling team. Neil was also a champion fisherman and a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Neil is survived by his wife Barbara; they were married for 55 years. Also surviving are his children; Gary (Sharon) Smith of Snellville, Georgia, Michelle (Don) Ladd of Franklin, Tennessee, Sharon (Brad) DeVaney of Cleveland, Tennessee and Angela (Russell) Gibbons of Columbia, Tennessee, eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and his sister Barbara Panich of Willoughby, Ohio. The family will receive friends in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Monday, April 14, from 6 until 8 PM, Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church of Eustis at 10 AM on Tuesday, April 15th, committal services will follow in Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis.
