Hunter Nick McKelvin's Obituary
Hunter Nick McKelvin, a vibrant spirit full of life and laughter, passed away tragically on February 21, 2026, at the tender age of 16, while doing what he loved most: fishing. Born on September 9, 2009, in Deland, Florida, and raised in nearby Paisley, Hunter was a beacon of joy to all who knew him.
From a young age, Hunter demonstrated a love for adventure, whether it was casting a line into tranquil waters, riding his mini bike, or exploring the world with friends. His infectious laughter and big heart made him a friend to everyone he encountered. Hunter had a unique ability to uplift those around him, often going above and beyond to bring smiles to the faces of his loved ones, even playfully stealing sunflowers from the neighbor’s garden to brighten his sister's day.
Hunter shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Buddy, and his commitment to family and friends was evident in everything he did. Known for his generosity and kindness, he made a lasting impact on the lives of many. Recently baptized, he embraced his faith and nurtured a relationship with Jesus, finding solace in his beliefs.
He is survived by his loving mother, Jean McKelvin; father, Nick McKelvin (Cherie); and his siblings, Skyler Rohrer, David McKelvin, James Rohrer, Ashley Bennett, Madison McKelvin, and Abby Hart.
