Henry Parker's Obituary
Henry Young Parker, 93 of Eustis, FL passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 at home under the care of his daughters and assistance from hospice. Born in Taylor County, he joined the Army and advanced to Paratrooper in WWII, receiving a silver star, the second highest military honor. He migrated to central Florida in the 1950's to raise a family. Initially he owned a clay pit and operated draglines and bulldozers and cleared land. Later he developed land using a dredge to pump sand from lakes to the surface for building homes and clearing lakes/canals. He owned a gas and service station on Orange ave. in Eustis in the 1970's. The past 30 years he was working with honey bees, then bottling and selling honey as Sweet Thing Honey Plantation. He is a legend in Lake County at 93 years young and has a honey following worldwide. Survivors include his sons: Aaron (Diana) Parker, Umatilla, FL, Jerome (Ching) Parker, Zephryhills, FL; daughters: Mandy (Jam) Bass, Grand Island, FL, Jeanie (Michael) Lombardi, Eustis, FL; brother: Peter Parker, Orlando, FL grandchildren: Jay Parker, Jason Parker; and great grandchildren: Samantha Parker and Riley Parker.
