Floyd Russell Dieterich's Obituary
Floyd "Bud" Russell Dieterich, 96, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 2, 2021. Bud was born on February 6, 1924 in Baltimore Maryland to Lester and Mildred Dieterich. Bud served his Country proudly in the United States Army in World War II in Euorpe. He was in Normandy right after the fighting started and also in the Battle of the Bulge as backup. Bud was very proud to serve and spoke fondly of France. After the war, Bud would try to go to all of the reunions offered. Bud was employed and retired with Bethlehem Steel after 35 years of service. Later, before he moved to Florida he lived in Dundalk, Maryland and in 2000 he moved to Sunlake Estates in Lake County Florida and enjoyed his Florida home for many years until 2018 when he moved to Tavares for health reasons. Bud loved to travel and visited every State in the Union. He was also a member of the VFW and Masons. Bud is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Mary, Niece Linda Snyder (Don), Nephew Meredith Cahoon (Pam) and many other nieces and nephews as well as grand and great, great nieces and nephews who all adored him as well as he adored them. From Maryland to Oklahoma, Georgia, to South Carolina, to Florida. Children were just drawn to him and all share fond memories over and over. Bud was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Martha, Son Russell Allen Dieterich, Brothers; David Frey, Robert Frey and Frank Dickerson and Sister Mildred M. Rubio. A graveside service for Bud is scheduled for Saturday, February 6th at 10:00 AM at Lakeside Memory Gardens, 36601 N. County Road 19A, Eustis, Florida 32726.
