Edward Donald Knerr's Obituary
It is with much sadness that we announce that Edward Donald Knerr (Ed) age 80, of Tavares, Florida passed away in his home on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023, after a short battle with lung cancer. Ed was born in Dayton, Ohio and received his Bachelors of Industrial Engineering degree from Ohio State University in 1966 and had a long career with Lockheed Martin Aerospace Engineering Cooperation. Ed enjoyed working on, and racing cars, with Martin Sports Car Club as well as with the Sports Car Club of America. He was also a long-standing member of the Central Florida Triumph Registry for over 40 years, where he gained lifelong friends like him with a deep love for British cars. Ed is survived by his wife, Debra Woodham Knerr, his children Jeff Knerr, Greg Golden (Ashley), Lynn Sims (Jacob), Diana Redmon and Dorothy Knerr; his grandchildren Jeffery Knerr, Alex Golden, Micah Sims, Ethan Sims, Kamryn and Emyley Golden; great-grandchildren Zoey and Grayson Golden. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Lung Association. The family invites friends to join them for a graveside service at Lakeside Memory Gardens (Eustis) on Friday, April 7th, 2023 at 2pm. Feel free to drive your favorite sports car in loving memory of Ed.
