Dolores Cruz's Obituary
Dolores Cruz of Eustis, Florida passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the age of 97 years. She was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico and moved to the states when she was a young lady. She lived for many years in Woodside, Queens, New York with her husband, Pedro, her one and only true love. Dolores worked as school guard. She always wanted to be around children and help them in every way possible. She was also a homemaker, taking care of her husband and raising her family. Dolores moved to central Florida in 1997 from New York to live with her daughter, Elsie. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church in Eustis. Dolores was very dedicated to the Lord and prayed often. She also enjoyed sewing and she loved to draw.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Cruz in 1963. She is remembered and will be dearly missed by her daughters, Nereida A. (Luis) Rodriguez of Bradenton, Florida, Elsie (Mark Burbach) Cruz of Eustis, Laura Cruz of Tavares, Florida and Sophia Cruz of Woodside, Queens; sons, Pedro A. Cruz of Miami, Florida, Ricardo P. Cruz of Miami and Billy (Margie) Cruz of Melbourne, Florida; brother, Polo Cruz of Puerto Rico; sisters, Celi Serrano Cruz of San Sebastian, Puerto Rico and Sophia Cruz of San Juan, Puerto Rico; as well as 25 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather for viewing on Saturday, October 7 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm and again on Sunday from 2:00 pm - 4:00 PM and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be on Monday at 10:00 am at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church in Eustis. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis.
