Charales Lawrence Canell's Obituary
Charles “Chuck” Lawrence Canell, age 91, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, in Tavares, Florida. He was born on November 6, 1934, in Elkhart, Indiana to Langford L. and Marjorie Canell.
Chuck proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. After his military service, he moved to Leesburg, Florida, in 1975 and later worked for Lake Region Packing and the City of Tavares. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends at Amvets, where he shared stories, laughter, and companionship over the years.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary Grover and Debbie Hood; his sisters, Beverly Strickler, Velda (Larry) Wesolowski, and Michele (David) Muir, his grandchildren, Chris (Amanda) Grover, Amy (Paul) Horton, Jamie (Bubba) English, Caitlin (Vernon) Nipper and Jeffrey Harris, and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Langford Canell Jr. his sisters, Sharon Keener and Helen Yoder, his daughter, Becky Harris, his son-in-law, Steve Grover, and his wives, Patricia and Jans. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by the friends and loved ones who shared in the moments of his life.
His funeral will be held at Lakeside Memory Gardens, 36601 County Rd 19A N. Eustis, Fl. on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations to A Forever Home Animal Rescue in Eustis, Florida or a charity of your choice..
