Myrtle R. Bethea, age 85, Tavares, FL went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, Tavares, FL. Born Saturday, August 20, 1932 in Coffee County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late James and Viola Adkison. Myrtle attended Tavares High School, married the late Don Raymond Bethea in February, 1957, and enjoyed a 32-year career with the United Telephone Company as a Toll Investigator. Myrtle was a long-standing member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Tavares, and was song leader for many of those years. Myrtle loved to cook and bake for family and church functions. Her loving hospitality, along with her gentle soft-spoken manner cannot be denied. Myrtle is survived by her four children: Donna and her husband, Bob, of Leesburg, FL, David and his wife, Donna, of DeLand, FL, Daniel and his wife, Darla, of Ozark, AL and Joe and his wife, Lottie, of Ocala, FL; Nine Grandchildren: Jason of Gainesville, FL, Mica of Jacksonville, FL, Joseph of Ocala, FL, Robert of Palatka, FL, Joshua of Miami, FL, Aaron of Ocala, FL, Frazier of Jacksonville, FL, Daniel of Ocala, FL and Raymond of Ocala, FL; Eight Great-Grandchildren: Joey, Anna and Zachary Plante of Ocala, FL, Tyler and Alyssa Plante of Palatka, FL, Dylan and Mason Bethea of Ocala, FL and Sawyer of Gainesville, FL. She is also survived by her brother, Alcus of Marianna, FL and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Raymond, Myrtle was predeceased by her sisters: Verena Sharpe and Sybil Turner and by her brothers: Ervin and Wayne Adkison. Visitation will be held at Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funerals and Cremations, Tavares, FL on Friday, March 30, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral Service will follow on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at Lakeside Memory Gardens Cemetery, Eustis, FL.
