Gary Fensler, 69, of Tavares, FL passed away on March 13, 2021. Gary was born March 17th, 1951 in Fort Wayne, IN. He was the eldest son of Russell and Joella Fensler. Gary loved his family, and being outdoors. He especially loved playing with his kids and grandkids in the pool or yard. He enjoyed golf, tennis, frisbee, classic rock music, classic cars, and family vacations! Gary loved to play the drums (on a kit, or on the dashboard) and he loved to wash your car! Gary often did random acts of kindness and imparted wisdom in a humble and humorous way. Professionally, he began his career by following his father‘s footsteps at the International Harvester plant in Fort Wayne assembling the famed Scout trucks. He was promoted to the corporate office of Navistar in Chicago and worked in the NBC Tower. He finished his career working as an international specialist in HR/Benefits. Gary was a true family man, always putting family first and showing us with his words and actions that he truly loved us. He was a great public speaker and had a gift of connecting with people. Gary is survived by his wife, Linda Fensler; sister, Cathy Boling; brother, Rex Fensler; 4 children and their spouses, Laura & Brian Baker, Andrew & Whitney Gabet, Ryan & Anna Fensler, Jill & Carlos Velez; 14 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild. Gary frequently said, "You only get what you give." He gave the world so much and will forever be remembered and missed. A gathering of family and friends for Gary is scheduled for Saturday, March 27th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, 226 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, Florida 32778. A celebration of life service will immediately follow beginning at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Dr. Isaac Deas officiating. Gary's committal services will follow at Lakeside Memory Gardens Cemetery, 36601 County Road 19 A North, Eustis, Florida 32726.
