Charles R “Irish” Gaskill 85 of Eustis, Florida died June 22, 2014. Irish was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey on February 14, 1929. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joy-Carol Tomlin Gaskill, of Eustis, and two brothers, Russell and Raymond, both of New Jersey, New Jersey. He leaves behind two daughters, Kathleen-Joy Laura and husband Robert of Rosenberg TX, and Irene “Randi” Gaskill of Orlando, Florida, two grandchildren, Sean Hale of Eustis, FL and Carolyn Hale of Ellensburg, Washington and numerous nieces and nephews. A printer by trade, he worked in the field for many years. He was long known in New Jersey and in the Central Florida area as Santa Claus, bringing happiness to children every Christmas season. As a young man he was known for his tenor singing voice, and enjoyed singing for years. He was a teller of tales and a singer of songs, and will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service is planned for Thursday, June 26th at 11 AM in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel. The final resting place will be Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis.
