Catherine Sue Wilson died peacefully in her Tavares, Florida home on March 6, 2022. She was born in Sikeston, Missouri on March 9, 1940 to Buford C. Fowler and Dessa Rhea (Kitchen) Fowler. She graduated from Arkansas State University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and received a Master’s Degree at the University of Central Florida in Education Administration. After graduating from Arkansas State, Catherine and her husband Dennis worked in the Tuckerman Arkansas school system. She was an employee of Tavares Elementary School for over 30 years, as both English teacher and guidance counselor. She did not retire as the guidance counselor until all her grandchildren graduated Tavares Elementary School. She built a life and home in Tavares when she moved in 1967 with her late husband, of whom both were teachers in the Lake County School system. She was a member of the local women’s club for many years. She was dedicated to her children and grandchildren and helping each family member as much as possible. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, going on adventures/trips with her late husband, listening to Elvis Presley, making delicious Southern meals, and gardening all kinds of tropical plants. She is survived by son Danny Kent Wilson of Tavares, Florida, daughter Darla Kaye Wilson of Tavares, Florida, as well as grandchildren: Danielle Zuk of Reston, Virginia, Dean Wilson of Tavares, Florida and Dusty Wilson of Cocoa, Florida. She is proceeded in passing by her husband Dennis Dwyane Wilson, brother Bobby Fowler, and her son David Wilson.
